Owen Dodds and Sunmi Han are co-founders of Morningside Piano Studio. With over 25 years of teaching experience between them, Owen and Sunmi have come together to create a community-centered piano education program for all ages.

 

Morningside Piano Studio was created with the vision of fostering a community-based piano education program for music students around NYC. Unlike many music schools, which provide weekly lessons and occasional recitals, Morningside Studio places group performance classes at the center of its pedagogical philosophy. In addition to weekly private lessons, performance classes are held once a month. All students in the program will perform in the class, and are strongly encouraged to attend every class.  

 

Performance classes are designed with a friendly and nurturing atmosphere, giving students and professionals the opportunity to try out new pieces and receive constructive criticism. A musical community is the life blood of any budding artist, we hope to create a context for musicians to thrive in creativity and inspiration.
